Is your current living experience alive with joy, purpose, and wonder?
If not, your attachment to fear may be holding you back. It is our attachment to fear that keeps us from accessing spiritual wellbeing. As we move into spiritual wellbeing, we awaken our capacity for personal evolution. We step into joy, purpose, and wonder as we tap into the great creative spirit that exists on the other side of fear. We cannot create a new living experience with an old mindset.”
This book covers survival mode, imagined fear, fearful love, the trauma virus, common survival patterns, our purpose, spiritual alignment and much more. The author, Ashr Gray, takes you on a fast-paced ride through the origins of survival mode and the carnage it has left in its wake. He draws upon his own experiences to illustrate colorful and entertaining teaching allegories. This book concludes with a glowing possibility mantra practice that illuminates the path back into inner wholeness and joy — your natural birthright.
A New Mindset
When you think about people on skid row, or death row, or someone walking down the street with their head held down in defeat, remember that each person was born as a curious and receptive child, eager to embrace the world. We have all had experiences that shaped our thoughts, and those thinking patterns are the only thing that has distanced us from that curious and receptive child we once were.
With this practice, we can evolve beyond our established mindset. By earnestly utilizing the power of awareness, desire and willingness we can cultivate a new mindset, one that restores the sense of wholeness and joy we experienced as small children.
About Survival Patterns
Fear and the need for control compel us to create predictable patterns. In the past, these patterns helped us to navigate and survive challenging circumstances. Today, these survival patterns keep us focused on avoiding what we do not want rather than on bringing in the things we need. It is essential to address the patterns that keep us in fear. This can be challenging. After all, these patterns did not appear overnight. They manifested slowly over decades. We have been living in our patterns for so long now that we see them as who we are rather than something we have created.
These patterns hijack our creative energy to remain active. They do not want to die, and we do not know who we would be without them.
Through engaging Way of the Conscious Creator, you can access and begin to work with the spiritual power you need to grow beyond the mold of your undermining patterns.
Way of the Conscious Creator
Our purpose is to live with wholeness and joy.
Inner wholeness and joy is the natural byproduct of living in alignment with our spiritual nature. This internal state manifests as a sensation of spiritual wellbeing that we experience in moments. It is not a destination or a goal, but rather a way of life that we can cultivate. As we consciously create a living experience aligned with our spiritual nature, we fulfill the fundamental needs outlined in this process.

From Becoming Ashr:
“Back then, I was driving a retired 1988 Chevy Caprice Classic cop car. It was white, which reflected the virtuous light-chasing path that I had been on. But this was a new day, and I was a new man. There would be no more virtuous path for me. Symbolically, I needed to make this distinction known to the universe and everyone in it. So, I drove to Home Depot, purchased 30 cans of black spray paint, and proceeded to paint my car in the parking lot. Security guards circled around me, but I didn't care. It was a chilly fall day, and my shirt was off, yet I was still sweating profusely with all the meth coursing through my veins. I had paint all over me, even in my nostrils. It was quite a scene. When I was done, I stood and admired my work before driving off into the night.

From Fearful Love:
"Fear keeps us from recognizing this fact, much like bodies on a battlefield may obscure the soldiers’ true cause of death. Soldiers don’t mysteriously die. They are sent to their deaths by the destructive thoughts of their masters. The same holds true for us. Our capacity to create authentic expressions of love is doomed by our destructive, fear-driven thoughts.
Fear is never the problem.
Lack of spiritual connection is always the problem.
Fear is nothing more than an emotional indicator letting us know that we are no longer living in alignment with our spiritual nature. When fear cuts us off from spiritual wellbeing, we diminish our awareness of what is truly possible. We need the power of spiritual awareness to create beyond the mold of our conditioning.”
From Origin of the Trauma Virus:
“As the warmth continued, they initiated their slow migration south. Thus began a multi-generational quest for salvation. They sought out new lands to erase bitter memories. Before rising seas pulled the coastline under, clans from the north found safe passage to the fertile crescent. These pilgrims from the north discovered new lands, however, their survival mindset remained. Although they began to establish settlements among the tribes of the fertile crescent, they believed in a different god than those who called the fertile crescent their home.
This, perhaps, is the true story of Cain and Abel."
.”
From Interlude One:
“Suddenly, I looked down to discover my right hand in a fist, violently rubbing my own nose. I was invoking an allergic reaction by irritating my nose. This was startling. Was I possessed? I abruptly grabbed the perpetrating hand and pulled it down to my side as if it belonged to someone else. In that instance, a realization came to me. I asked to be excused. I headed to the bathroom, locked the door, sat on the floor, closed my eyes, and began to breathe deeply.
I somehow recognized that there was a part of me that was terrified of being rejected or messing up in front of my classmates. I was able to see that this part of me was trying to protect rather than commit self-sabotage. With this realization, I knew that the moment called for compassion. Getting frustrated would only make things worse.
What I had always thought to be self-sabotage was nothing more than attempts at self-protection.”
From Building New Habit Patterns:
“Practicing possibility mantras helps us to cultivate a curious5 and receptive6 mind. Let’s revisit our earlier example to illuminate their effectiveness. When someone believes that they are ugly, we don’t simply tell them to call themselves beautiful. Instead, we suggest that they begin to accept the possibility of being beautiful. Framing this initial mantra cycle as a series of possibilities allows our mind to receive new ideas. Introducing a possibility is less threatening to the conscious thinking mind than simply proclaiming that something is so. Possibilities gently bypass our established certainties in a way that positive affirmations do not”
From Learning from Ashr’s Experience:
“Although each possibility mantra acknowledges an unwanted pattern, it does so only as a point of reference to help you distinguish what you desire to bring into existence from that which you do not. This helps you build the awareness that you do in fact have a choice. Having an awareness of options to choose from keeps you from automatically indulging in an established undermining pattern. Having an awareness of options, and an ability to choose from those options, allows you to step into a creative power that was previously unrealized.”
